Using disk deduplication appliances for Enterprise-scale backup presents major problems for many IT departments. Large-scale disk backup systems often can't deliver the kind of backup performance, data reduction rates, and replication capability needed to protect Enterprise assets or to centralize data from branch and remote offices. And interfaces with backup software are frequently limited, making it hard to switch applications or to move data to a tertiary layer, like tape, for DR protection.

DXi9000 is completely compatible with all leading backup software, and up to 128 partitions can present themselves as CIFS/NFS shares, VTLs, or OST LSUs for maximum flexibility. Replication, encryption, full hardware redundancy, and an integrated path to tape are standard features, keeping costs low and predictable.
